Frequently asked questions
Why does the tool count 194 countries?
Our list has 194 countries: the UN member states and the Holy See (Vatican City), together with Occupied Palestine. So the “of the world” figure on your card is the number of countries you picked divided by 194, rounded to the nearest whole number. Places such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Kosovo or the Canary Islands are not listed as separate countries.
How are continents counted?
We use a common split into six inhabited continents: Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania (Antarctica has no countries). Countries that span two continents are counted in one: Egypt in Africa; Turkey, Cyprus and the Caucasus in Asia; Russia in Europe; Central America and the Caribbean in North America.
Does the tool save or send the countries I pick?
Your picks are saved only in this browser on this device, so they are there when you come back, and the card is drawn inside your browser; it is not uploaded to our servers. Site analytics record only the number of countries when you make a card, never their names.
Does your map need a new country?
Tell the AI trip planner where and when you'd like to go and who's travelling, and it designs the trip day by day: the best areas, hotels and halal restaurants, with flight prices and booking links.
